The healthcare environment is highly competitive and requires continuous improvement of the quality of care provided to customers to sustain a good reputation and create customer loyalty through patient satisfaction. The main environmental risk to the adoption of telemedicine is increased competition from other healthcare facilities with the capacity to adopt advanced telemedicine applications. However, Tenet has the advantage of having many healthcare facilities across the United States and a regular flow of income that can be used to advance our telemedicine framework. Therefore, if the business environment shifts unpredictably, Tenet can add more features and integrations to its existing telemedicine framework to improve its efficiency. I would also propose regularly training staff to equip them with new knowledge on the application of telemedicine in healthcare. For instance, staff may be trained in teleradiology to expand the scope of telemedicine applications. According to Rangasamy et al. (2011), teleradiology is anticipated to be more profitable than telemedicine. Profitability could arise from the increase in the number of patients requiring radiology services and the limited number of healthcare experts in radiology.

Relevance and Significance of the Quantitative and Qualitative Economic, Financial, and Scholarly Evidence Used

The evidence used throughout the plan is relevant to Tenet Healthcare Organization because it is drawn from discussions on the application of telemedicine in healthcare organizations. The evidence is also applicable to the proposed initiative because it discusses important aspects related to the role of telemedicine in the healthcare setting and important factors to consider in adopting it to enhance success. The evidence illustrates a solution that has been successful in the past by demonstrating how telemedicine has improved the provision of healthcare services by improving the quality of healthcare and how it impacts the performance of healthcare providers. The evidence also illustrates that a recommendation is the best course of action for Tenet’s situation by demonstrating how it will create long-term benefits and viability despite unpredicted environmental changes.
